Traverse City Trail Report – Blue Sky Snowmobile Rentals – 01/28
What a day yesterday.
First of all we did get about 4 inches of fresh snow. The winds have been up and we have not seen much improvement to the base. As for the base we do have a solid base on the Boardman. The trails are a bit icy in some spots but overall seem pretty good. The groomer has been out knocking down the bumps. With the current snow we should see some good riding this weekend.
OK ! I need to take a minute to give a huge thank you to SUPERTRAX magazine and SNOWTRAX tv for giving Mike and I the opportunity to guide them through the Boardman Valley. Mike and Matt Lester from Supertrax gave us a shout and asked us to guide them through the area. What a great opportunity for the local business’ on the trail and for Traverse in general. The Lester family has owned the rights to the business for years and were very impressed with not only the trails but the area as well. We are excited to say they will be giving the Boardman Valley trail and Blue Sky some great exposure in the Sept 2010 Supertrax magazine. We are in the works to possibly even help produce an episode of the SNOWTRAX TV show in the early winter of next year. I will say this.. they had some sweet new sleds for us to ride. I had my own 2009 Polaris 800 Dragon, Mike was on an 09 Renegade XP. The boys from Supertrax had the 2010 f8 snowpro, the 2010 Polaris 800 Dragon (which will feature on Mondays Snowtrax episode), the 2010 Yamaha Nitro FX, and my favorite of the four, the new 2010 Polaris Rush. Mike and I had a blast getting the chance to ride the latest and greatest. We had a chance to pick the brains of the experts and we grabbed as much information as we could. What a great day. We will be posting some photo’s from the ride very soon.
Anyway, enough bragging, we are looking forward to a great weekend of riding.
Be safe out there!
Jamie B.

Cadillac / Irons – Wolf Lake Motel – January 27, 2010 — I just got back from a 92 mile ride and most of the trails are in pretty fair condition, with the exception of a 5 mile section of trail 3 south of low Bridge to Laverne road, which was bad. We did loose some snow last Sunday, but we have been getting some LES for the last three days. More LES snow is forecasted for the next 7 days with cold temps to continue.. – photo taken 01/27 — michigansnowmobile.com/wolflakemotel

Snowman
Eastern U.P., Michigan – Newberry – January 23, 2010 — Newberry
Snowman — This was a fun community project we did in Newberry
today. It was awesome! Before we were done people were stopping by
to take pictures of our snowman. It’s about 16′ tall and about 30′
feet around. It’s located on the west side of Newberry Avenue/M-123,
just the Police Post and two blocks south of the High School. —

Good afternoon,
Just a note to let you know the snow is still good in our neck of the woods. We’ve had a group in and they’re really happy with the amount of snow we have.
The trails are still okay. It’s 3:30 pm and the temp is 30, it’s really beautiful.
I’ve asked for a report from those that are here. I’ll let y’all know what they say a little later.

Good coverage, no wind, soft snow. Good to excellent trail conditions from Crystal Mountain to Wellston. Very few sleds on the trail. Great day for a ride.

THIS SURE WAS A BUSY WEEKEND. All of our guest that were riding this
Holiday Weekend were very pleased with the trail conditions, but all
noted how busy the trails were. They also noted how good the trails

the whole weekend. – photo taken 01/01 — michigansnowmobile.com/wolflakemotel
